Settled Season: The Maguas
After almost a 2 year release hiatus, The Maguas have hit us with not one, not two, but three new tracks within the last three weeks or so. These tracks also come with the announcement of their debut full length, ‘Settled’. AND with the announcement comes a long awaited vinyl drop too. And just when you thought you’d heard enough, we also get to celebrate with their news of being signed to CI Records! CI Records is a Pennsylvania based record label and with artists like August Burns Red and Texas In July, it seems the Maguas will be in great company.
Their latest release is entitled 'xXBadTimesxX' and it definitely takes us down that heavier Maguas dark road. Then we have a more familiar Maguas vibe with the song 'Too Close' and of course we then have the track 'Forget Me Not' which brings us back down to our emo senses. And dare I say has a T-Swift riffy, love story guitar sound.
To say it has been quite the journey watching this band grow and accomplish the things they have, would be an understatement. They are a Scranton staple and the music they continue to give us not only shows us the incredible hard work and versatility of the band, but takes us on a very close and relatable journey.
The Maguas are indeed that band that’s like that long-term close friend that you will always keep in contact with. But sometimes you go days, months or years without talking or hearing from them. But when you do connect again, it’s like no time has passed. No matter how long these gents go without making an appearance, or putting out any music, when they surface, they never cease to disappoint. They have brought us top-tier music from the beginning and it only gets better and better. It seems the sky is the limit for the Scranton boys and I think I can speak for everyone apart of this Maguas family, that we can't wait to see what the future hold for these gents.
